Valveco – spares & services - BV and Scanvent APS join forces for p/v valves, spares and services with focus on spares and maintenance for existing fleets. With this joint effort Valveco and Scanvent aim to provide first class service and reduce maintenance costs for ship owners in times of hardship for the shipping business.
Scanvent’s new line of high velocity p/v valves is unique. Valveco confirms the advantages compared to existing products:
- Twice the capacity for the same nominal size
- Vent line diameter can be reduced one nominal size while remaining in compliance with non-oscillating requirements (IMO MSC/Circ. 677)
- Dual integrated nozzles: one for thermal variation venting and one for loading. This permits nil release of cargo vapour and/or inert has during voyage at pressures below the Target Pressure in accordance with IMO MSC/Circ. 680 (VOC Management Plan requirements)
- Maintenance is drastically reduced because there’s no wear on the main seat/disc during voyage
- Efflux velocity is around twice that of conventional valves for the simple reason that the capacity is twice.
- Replacement of all wear parts is on a “plug-and-play” module basis so the need for service engineers to attend vessels is eliminated
In all Valveco’s locations: Rotterdam (Holland), Gdansk (Poland), Setubal (Portugal), Algeciras (Spain), Las Palmas (Canary Islands) and Tuzla (Turkey), Valveco and Scanvent have repair facilities and storage of spares for Pres-Vac high velocity p/v valves type HS-ISO and Scanvent high velocity p/v valves type Mark IV, which cover more than half the world tanker fleet.
All mentioned locations have Scanvent trained staff capable of maintaining and calibrating both valve types undertaking of complete overhauls (sand blasting, painting, refurbishment of parts, and re-calibration/testing with/without class).
